How to use the eBay search tool Terapeak

Searching via Terapeak has been possible since 2006. At that time, as a separate platform, these searches were already possible:

• Product analysis: Which products go particularly well and when?
• Competitor analysis: What does the success of my competitors look like?
• Category analysis: In which category is the most earned?
• The Trends function: What can we learn from the past for the future?
• International comparison: Flop in Germany, top abroad? Find out.

Not overloaded, but equipped with sophisticated queries, Terapeak quickly became a must-have for all online retailers who are serious about eBay.

eBay Terapeak free of charge

Terapeak was integrated into eBay in May 2019. Since then, it has been available to all users of an eBay store and is also used actively. In Verkäufercockpit Pro, these searches are available:

• Category selection: Show only transactions of a specific eBay category.
• Sales figures and average prices over a longer period of time: Here you can identify trends for your products.
• Automatic word recognition: As with the smartphone, there is an auto-completion here for search terms that most likely match your intention

Market research with Terapeak

Before you offer a product on eBay, you should use Terapeak to see how the product has sold so far and which seller has made which sales (in percent). You can then use a clear bar chart to find out more and make your decision.

Through this analysis, you can avoid unnecessary expenses, better plan your inventory and prices. Also, with long-term analysis, you can better understand price fluctuations. With the additional filter option by item condition, you can also see whether you would rather sell the item new or used.

Terapeak competitor analysis

In Terapeak, you can see which competitor’s products are at the top of the search results – and why.

It shows you, among other things:

• attractive prices
• Item image quality
• Item Features
• other service standards like free and fast shipping, return policy etc.

Compare these details with your offers and adjust them if necessary to also appear at the top of the search results.

International comparison

This function is also still available. You can easily have your products checked on 22 international eBay platforms. How do they rank, how big is the competition, what prices can you expect, etc.? All in all, Terapeak is a really helpful tool and can be used free of charge even for the smallest eBay store.
