Donate money with the new Twitter function
With Twitter’s new“Twitter Tip” feature, you can now donate money to the content creator. How to activate it for yourself, which requirements have to be met and which payment providers are available, we will explain in this Twitter tutorial.

The possibilities to earn money online have expanded more and more in recent years. After TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, Twitter is now also introducing a tipping function. Twitter users have long tweeted links to their payment providers to encourage their fans to donate. Now Twitter has found an internal solution for this. Whether you’re sending money because you find a Creator’s work funny, want to support a business in hard times, or want to donate to a good cause, anything is possible with Twitter Tips or Tips. However, to use the feature, you must be at least 18 years old and agree to the guidelines.
You can even pay with Bitcoins
For tipping, Twitter provides many different payment options. Among other things, it is even possible to pay with cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. The first users have even received tips in the form of a cryptocurrency. Ios users will get this feature first and then Android users as well. Twitter Tip - How it works
Here’s how Twitter tips work: Accounts that have activated the new feature will have a money icon next to the follow button on their profile. Clicking on it will open a list of all the payment options the account has chosen to receive money. Select an option and specify the desired amount. Unlike YouTube, for example, Twitter doesn’t want a percentage of tips. One hundred percent of the money sent should go to the account. To set up the tip function for yourself, go to Edit profile. Then tap Tips and agree to the general tipping policy. Next, turn on “Allow tipping” and select payment services. You will then need to enter a username. Be aware that your personal information such as address and name may be shared by payment providers. It is best to read the terms and conditions of the individual providers.
These payment providers are supported
So far, services such as Bandcamp, Cash App, Chipper, Patreon and Venmo are available as service providers for tips. Other service providers, such as GoFundMe are also to be added, payments with Bitcoin are possible via the Lightning Network.
