Instagram announced that they will be focusing especially on reels and messaging this year. The platform is currently constantly working on new features and improvements for the Reels feature, which is why another feature that many users have been wishing for a long time will be added soon.
In this video, we show you a new Instagram Reels feature that will soon allow users to retrieve their reels after removing them from the feed.
Address followers in the reel tab
So far, the process of posting is to decide whether a reel should also be posted in your own profile feed. If you choose to do so, a reel will be shared with your followers in the Reels tab and in the feed. This decision can be reversed afterwards by removing the reel from the feed again, so that it can only be found under Reels. However, the deletion from the feed can then no longer be undone. So if a user accidentally removes a reel from their profile feed, the only way to add it back there is to repost it. The likes and comments are then annoyingly lost.
Instagram responds to community requests
Instagram now wants to offer a solution for exactly this problem. Social media expert Alessandro Paluzzi shared a screenshot of the planned new feature on Twitter. On this one you can see that the option to add Reels to your profile feed has been added in the Reels selection. So if Instagram launches the feature soon, older reels that were never visible in the profile feed could be added after all. So if a reel is very well received and you would like to have it in the feed after all, that will soon no longer be a problem. Since the profile feed is seen first, this feature could mean more visibility for your content for many creators. Instagram hereby shows once again that they want to listen to their users and solve the problems of their community.
Future features
In the future, we can expect many more features for Instagram Reels, as Reels are expected to become the core of the platform. For you, this means that you too should focus on reels to be successful on Instagram.
Unfortunately, it is not yet known when exactly the new function for reels will come. However, some users can already use the feature, which is why it cannot be long before it is fully rolled out. We will also incorporate such features into our work as a social media agency.
