Create Magento 2 Manufacturer
How to add it to your Magento 2 store
How to create a Magento 2 vendor and where to find them in the first place, you will learn in this Magento 2 Screencast episode. Manufacturers can be found in Magento as product attributes – accordingly you have to create them. You can see how it works in this video.
Create Magento 2 manufacturer as attribute
After we have already shown you how to create a manufacturer for your Gambio store, we explain this in the video also for the Magento 2 store. In Magento 2, the manufacturer is more or less a product attribute, which is why we go to Stores in the left column and Product under Attributes. To create our desired attribute – in any case“manufacture” and if necessary also“Country of manufacture“, we enter the first letters of the word, press Enter will get both attributes displayed.
We create our manufacturers in the Magento 2 admin area
We have some detailed settings options here, such as Label Management and Storefront Properties, but they are of less interest to us for this video. We can give it a new label and eventually enter the options, the manufacturers themselves. On one side we have the manufacturer as it appears in the admin area and as it would be played out in the frontend. We call the first one“Manufacturer 01” and the second one“eBakery“. Then save and follow the cache hint to clear the page cache.
Create new article to test manufacturer attribute
After that we will try to place our newly created manufacturer in a new article as well. So as described in our article create video, go to Products and Catalog. Since we know from my initial explanation that manufacturer info is entered as attributes, we go to“Add Attributes” and would then add“manufacture” here. We have already done that, so the attribute is in the section provided for it, and as we would then see, both manufacturers are also selectable.
