Instagram Business vs Creator Account

What is the difference?

The Instagram Business Account vs. Instagram Creator Account – We explain the differences. Which account is for whom? We clarify the pros and cons of both Instagram accounts.

Instagram Business vs. Creator Account - What's the difference?

Since 2019, there is a third option in addition to a private and a business account: the Creator Account. But what are the differences between the Creator and the Business Account and which option is the better choice for you? At first glance, a Creator profile appears just like a Business profile, but there are a few important differences.

The Follow/Unfollow statistic as the first difference

The first difference is the follow/unfollow statistic. With both accounts, you can access the Instagram Creator Studio dashboard in the Facebook Creator Studio app. However, only the creator accounts get additional insights about the follows and unfollows for each day. The second difference is the sorting function. You will have a mailbox with chats of frequent contacts and additionally a “General” mailbox. In this mailbox all other messages are muted. You can also sort messages by priority and date of receipt to organize your mail by importance.

Instagram Business vs Creator Account - More Categories

More categories are the third difference. In the past, there were only a few categories on Instagram. This has changed with the Creator Profile. Now creative users such as musicians or bloggers can place themselves in a category, which is then displayed as a description above the biography. This allows other users to immediately see what the profile is about. The fourth difference is the music selection. With a Creator Account you have the choice between well-known artists and trend songs. With a business profile, on the other hand, you no longer have this access, but only a small selection of unknown artists.

Instagram Business vs. Creator Account - How to convert your profile

The conversion to a Creator profile is done directly in the Instagram app and can always be changed again just as quickly. Just like a business profile, a Creator profile is always public. Only personal accounts can be set to “Private”. To do this, open Instagram and go to your profile. Tap on the three dashes there. Then go to “Settings” and then to “Account”. Scroll all the way down and tap “Change account type”. Under “Edit profile” you can later change your category and select whether it should be displayed at all.

What does eBakery have to say about it?

Instagram Creator accounts are actually not for businesses, but for influencers and bloggers, but especially through the music library, it is also very interesting for businesses. Our tip is: If you as a company want to post reels and stories with trending songs, you should switch to a Creator profile in the future.
