The new Instagram Desktop Feed Post feature now allows you to use all the features from mobile on desktop as well. That means you can now compose, edit and publish your posts from the comfort of your PC or Mac. You can find out how here.

Instagram Desktop Feed Posts - The New Feature

Instagram recently announced that it would finally grant its users a long-awaited wish. They have been testing a new feature since May 2021, and it was finally rolled out globally on October 21. Now you can post content from your laptop or PC without any hacks or detours. An opportunity that many social media managers and creators have been waiting for. Previously, feed posts could be uploaded via Creator Studio via desktop, but many users found this option to be an inconvenient and unnecessary detour.

What have been the awkward alternatives so far?

Many users previously went to Instagram.com for this reason and, depending on which browser they were using, changed the settings via developer tools to the mobile view. It was then missing some functions from the app, but simple feed posts, could be posted so. However, most users were not willing to take these detours. Users are all the more pleased that Instagram is finally reacting and revamping the desktop version. Unfortunately, the update only applies to feed posts for now, as reels and stories have not been included. Unfortunately, these can still only be posted either via the Creator Studio or via the app on the smartphone.

Here's how you can now post your Instagram desktop feed posts from your PC

Let’s take a closer look at how posts can now be shared from the desktop. First, go to Instagram.com and log in with your user information. Now you have arrived at the desktop version of Instagram. At the top you will find the stories as usual and in the top right corner you will see a plus symbol in the third position. Click on this and a new window will open with the name “Create new post”. Click on “select from computer” and you can select a photo. Once you’ve made your choice, you can crop it and edit it with filters, as you already know from the app. Next, you’ll write your caption, choose hashtags, and when you click Share in the top right corner, the post will be posted. What’s special about the new feature is that posts can also be edited as usual, because that wasn’t so easy to do via the desktop until now.
