Twitter Live Stream Shopping - The Big Event on November 28th

After YouTube, TikTok and Instagram, Twitter now also wants to offer live stream shopping. The short messaging service is now also testing the Shopping Live feature. Since live stream shopping has been successfully implemented on other social platforms, it’s no surprise that Twitter is now entering the space. Videos with shopping options are currently very popular among users and the trend has just started. The company itself announced that they will be conducting their first test in the U.S. with Walmart on November 28, where Jason Derulo will kick off Cyber Week with the first-ever shoppable livestream on Twitter.

Users should be able to see the featured product and item information permanently below the video during the Twitter stream. This will make it easier for them to purchase the featured products. Users can find the live stream either via the Live Tweet or the Shop tab, which is not yet available for everyone. Ongoing streams are displayed in the shopping area. The products that were advertised in the streams should then also be found in the shopping area. Twitter has tried to push video formats on the platform before, which was usually not very successful. It therefore remains to be seen how users will react to Twitter’s new format, as the platform is primarily used for a quick, written exchange on current topics. As mentioned, live stream shopping will launch on November 28 in the US. It is not yet known when the feature will come to Germany.
