Whether this is possible, and if so, with what and by what means, we will show you in the following article.

Send 1000 packages in one hour - The short answer

But now to our leading question – 1000 packages in one hour? Is that possible?
The answer is – with the right system, absolutely. This means both the software and functioning workflows and processes within the workforce. Logically, you need enough manpower and a suitable warehouse. The necessary software to master this mammoth task is provided by JTL with JTL-WMS. This is the warehouse management system that covers and coordinates all processes in your warehouse. But how is that possible?

JTL WMS Shipping Processes

One answer to the question is the efficient shipping processes.
This means that the employee does not process each order individually, but has JTL-WMS create a so-called “path-optimized pick list”. This means it is not a random listing of products, but an efficient listing to save yourself way and time. But why are there now 5 different methods?
Since a single process would not be suitable for every order and every product, so it would not be the most efficient method. Let’s use an example to illustrate this.

A practical example

The order now contains many small, light individual products, such as espw. Light bulbs.
Then the shipping box method would be the most suitable. Here, the picking and packing process is separated from each other. First you collect all the products belonging to the order and place them in shipping boxes. If it is full, another employee can pack it. This saves a lot of time with 1000 orders.
But another example now would be a washing machine or pallet goods. For this, it would not make sense to separate the pick & pack process. That is why the Pick & Pack method exists, where both are handled in one process. This assumes that you have a pickup truck in the warehouse, which thus includes a Windows PC. scanner and printer on board. This means that with JTL-WMS, the most efficient shipping process is always selected based on the order and a path-optimized pick list is created for the employee for this.

Send 1000 parcels in one hour - Optimization makes it possible

By the way, with JTL not only the way in the warehouse can be optimized, but also the way how you reach your customers. Because the online store is one thing – marketplaces are another. And yes, this is also possible with JTL, thanks to the middleware from marcos software. With Unicorn 2 you can easily transfer your product data from JTL-Wawi to marketplaces like Otto Market, Kaufland, Metro, Rewe and many more. This will allow you to target a completely new clientele, benefit from visibility, and all without much effort.

What are MDE devices?

Now back to JTL-WMS.
To further optimize the picking process, so-called mobile data acquisition devices can be used – MDE for short. These are for example not a must for EazyShipping, but will save you time.
By the way, these can also be purchased in the eBakery Shop. If you want to learn more about this, watch the video linked here.
