TikTok now has around 800 million users worldwide and over 2 billion downloads of the app. 62 percent of users are between the ages of 10 and 29, and this is where it gets interesting, because the days of TikTok being a teen app are already over. Meanwhile, 38% of users are older than 30 and the trend is increasing. So TikTok is no longer mainly for teens. By the way, it was similar with Facebook many years ago. The network started with young users and after some time many older users joined. The younger ones then switched to Instagram. On Instagram, the process was similar again and users are switching to TikTok at the moment. For TikTok, this means that the more time goes by, the more older users will follow suit. Because TikTok’s success is far from over.

So it’s still very worthwhile for you to get started with the app, as its full potential is far from exhausted. By the way, no other app currently has as many active users, i.e. users who actively produce content themselves, as TikTok. A billion videos are shared on the app every day, although the focus of the content has long since shifted from dance to entertainment and comedy.
