You also run a YouTube channel and want to increase your reach? One measure could be to include your German-language content in English as well. As we find a legitimate solution, but it costs a lot of time. You are an entrepreneur and you don’t have the time?
Then our alternative solution would be to create subtitles for your YouTube videos. This allows the non-German speaking audience to understand your videos, but also has a positive effect on your YouTube SEO. Now it was previously possible from the community itself or but commissioned translators from Fiverr, for example, his videos without his zutun to translate. That is, you placed the order by forwarding the video links or the title of the video on the corresponding channel. Then they could click on the video and in the settings area for subtitles they had the possibility to create them themselves for the original language or other languages. Unfortunately, this is no longer possible in this form.

Have subtitles created on YouTube - How to do it

To have someone else create the subtitles, request their email address, which you can then enter here. In the field for accesses, you can determine exactly what the person may edit or see in the first place. Most privileges are granted to the administrator. This person can and may in principle do everything that the owner can do, except delete the channel. The editor, on the other hand, cannot grant access rights to anyone else, nor can he delete videos or conclude contracts. The restricted agent can do exactly the same thing, except that they do not have visibility into the sales data. Finally, there is the viewer who can see everything but is not allowed to edit anything. And the limited viewer who is allowed to see everything except the sales. Our tip at this point is to give the freelancer limited editing rights. This allows him to both view and edit the videos, but not delete anything or view sales.

Internationalization of your YouTube channel

Thus you avoid restrictions of the community rights from 28.09.2020 and enable external persons to write subtitles for your videos.
This way you can focus on your core business, but still get one step closer to the internationalization of your channel.
