Now the company reacts and wants to give its users more security and also insight into the current app status. To that end, Instagram now published a new blog post in which the company wrote: “We’ll be testing new notifications when certain parts of Instagram aren’t working, because we’re finding that people have a lot of questions. We want to make it easier to understand what’s happening straight from the source… “
The new in-app notification
Instagram writes “straight from the source” as in the last major disruption Twitter was used to inform about the outage with the hashtag #facebookdown. When the Instagram feed doesn’t load or a message isn’t sent on WhatsApp, most users think it’s because of the Internet connection or a brief glitch. A massive Facebook outage is the last thing users think about. This is precisely why the last outage caused a lot of uncertainty. The new in-app notification is intended to create more reliability and transparency for users. Users will now be informed in their activity log in the event of a malfunction. There they should also get more information about the problem, so that the users get more confidence in the app.
Instagram glitch feature - Alongside this, there will be an account status indicator
In addition to the in-app notification, another information feature called Account Status will be introduced, which will inform you why certain content has been removed from the platform and which community guidelines you have violated. So this new feature will help to detect and avoid a shadowban or future problems faster in the future. If there is a mistake on Instagram’s part in an alleged violation, you can appeal.The feature will be available in the settings under Account. As always, features will be added to users only gradually.
