What are YouTube Shorts?

YouTube Shorts are vertical short videos under one minute that can be created directly in the YouTube app. Filters, effects, music and other features can be applied. YouTube has adopted the successful format of TikTok and Reels, bringing a whole new set of possibilities.

How YouTube Shorts Work

These, just like the other platforms, are all about authentic creative short videos. The reason why YouTube has also introduced this feature is the long dwell time. Through Shorts, however, a whole new door has now opened, which should definitely be used by all newcomers, but of course also long-time YouTubers, to get a high reach.

How to create YouTube shorts

You can create a short via the YouTube app. However, if this feature has not been unlocked for you yet, it is also possible to upload vertical videos with the hashtag #Shorts via the browser. Of course, YouTube Shorts also uploads many already created TikTok videos. Accordingly, YouTube will probably not manage to create its own shorts creator, yet this does not change the possibilities of drawing attention to its YouTube channel through the shorts.
