Amazon FBA Products – What is Fulfillment by Amazon?

Amazon FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) refers to a very convenient way to make more sales on Amazon. Outsourcing to a professional is always a labor saver – here we show you what Amazon FBA is and how you can benefit from it.

How does Amazon FBA work?

You hand off the entire warehouse and shipping process to Amazon. For this, Amazon reserves you a part in its warehouse and requests the products from you. This will be calculated by the experts and you will be provided with a list of how much of what to send to which Amazon warehouse.

To keep track of this, you should use a good ERP system. JTL-Wawi can do this very well. You create an extra “Amazon FBA” warehouse there and manage all orders there. Xentral can also do this. We will be happy to set it up for you and train you in its use, so that you can also make changes on your own.

You can also specify the Amazon FBA warehouse directly as the receiving address for your orders. You are still left with the administration, but you no longer have to worry about on-time shipping. Of course, you can still keep an eye on it, so have the goods delivered to you first and then send them to Amazon. This also allows you to check that Amazon always receives correct and undamaged goods.

Why Amazon FBA?

Amazon customers want their order yesterday if possible. By outsourcing shipping to Amazon, you can turn in much shorter shipping times because employees and logistics are highly optimized. Especially with the possibility of Prime shipping, which you should offer, the sales chances increase enormously. In the best case, the customer can hold your product in his hands the very next day.

If shipping is fast, customers are thrilled. And if the product does not meet their expectations or perhaps something is defective, they are not so quick with a negative review at hand.

Why no Amazon FBA?

It sounds tempting, but as usual, there are two sides to this coin. Here you really have to check in each individual case whether Amazon FBA is also worthwhile for your products. Because, of course, Amazon makes you pay for it.

In addition, you have no influence on the shipping. If something goes wrong and you get a negative review, you can hardly point the finger at Amazon. Instead, you’ll have to swallow the bitter pill.

Another problem can be when your supplier repeatedly fails to deliver on time or a cheaper retailer comes into Amazon’s focus. In this case, Amazon may terminate the cooperation and you may lose a good part of the sales. Our experts will be happy to review your products and whether you should get involved.
