Amazon Sweden - this is how it looks at the moment
Anyone who wants to visit the website www.amazon.se is currently taken to the German Amazon marketplace, and the language is preset to English. Swedes can order goods here and then have them delivered to their homes. But because the country is relatively large and sparsely populated, Amazon faces particular challenges here.
Anyone who orders on Amazon wants to receive their goods as quickly as possible. In metropolitan areas, this means same-day delivery, in some places even in two hours. In Sweden, things look a little different at the moment. Delivery times of sometimes several weeks are the order of the day here, depending on how far outside the customer lives.
The south is still the most densely populated, but the further north the customer lives, the more sparse it looks – and delivery takes longer accordingly. It is not yet known how Amazon plans to solve this problem. Only the plan to penetrate the Swedish market.
Register as a merchant on Amazon Sweden
Basically, registration works the same way as in other European marketplaces. Once the registration is approved, it’s just a few clicks and you’ll have a whole new country at your disposal. If you’re already selling well-known products on Amazon, chances are you don’t need to do anything else. Amazon already translates the products into Swedish, and you can sit back for now. About tools like automatic price calculation adjust to them – still, of course, you should check them after activation.
If you have your own products (as a manufacturer or label), you have to translate the texts, create listings and set prices.
For tax purposes, a sale in Sweden means a delivery threshold of 33,794 euros, or 320,000 Swedish kronor (SEK). Up to this delivery threshold, you can later sell to end customers on Amazon Sweden without having to register for tax in Sweden.
