What is the Amazon A-Z Guarantee?

Under certain circumstances, Amazon offers a guarantee that allows customers to claim a refund up to 90 days after the last possible expected delivery date. If all circumstances are given, Amazon will check the case and the customer will receive an answer and if necessary the refund within one week.

The amount of reimbursement can be up to € 2,500.

What are the requirements for the Amazon A-Z Guarantee?

  1. The seller must sell through Amazon Marketplace or have payment made through Amazon Pay.
  2. The customer has already contacted the seller through “My account”.
  3. The answer from the dealer was more than 2 days ago.

  5. The A-Z request is made within 90 days of the last possible expected delivery date.
  6. One of the following additional requirements is met:
    1. The seller has not delivered the goods within
      1. 2 days after the last possible expected delivery date or
      2. 30 days after placing the order, if this is sooner.
    2. The customer has received defective or damaged goods, they are not as described AND no replacement, repair or refund, either in part or in full, has been made. He was promised a credit but was not paid.
    3. For an international sale, the seller will not provide a return address in Germany, provide a return label, or offer a full refund waiving the return of the item.
    4. The customer has incurred additional costs, e.g. customs, and the seller has not covered them.
    5. The customer has received an intact item and returned it to the commercial seller in accordance with the return policy. However, the seller has not received a refund or has received an incorrect refund. Also, the seller has not responded within the appropriate period.

When does the Amazon A-Z Guarantee not apply?

Of course, the check can also be negative, because although the customer is king, he also has a duty to cooperate. In the following cases, the application will be rejected:

  • The item was shipped in time and the receipt can be proven.
  • The buyer has had the deducted amount reversed by his bank
  • The item is as described.
  • The buyer does not respond to inquiries.
  • The item was not returned to the seller

These general cases always lead to rejection. If the case differs, it must be examined more deeply by Amazon.
